Fix – Cursor not moving between the cells when using arrow keys in Excel:

When you are working in Excel, suddenly found the cursor is not moving between the cells when using arrow keys.

Have you ever been in this type of situation?

Whenever you are using the arrow keys to move the cursor to the above or below cell but the Excel sheet is scrolling up and down.

Why is my Cursor not moving between the cells when using arrow keys in Excel?

The problem is with the Scroll Lock. When the Scroll Lock is enabled on your computer, Cursor will not move between the cells when using arrow keys in Excel.

In your Excel workbook, simply right-click anywhere on the status bar to open the options and just enable the Scroll Lock option.

Now you can see the Scroll Lock status on the status bar.

So you’ve to turn off the Scroll Lock.

Now how to turn off the Scroll Lock? This can be really frustrating if your keyboard doesn’t have the light indicator or scroll lock key.

Disable Scroll Lock with a keyboard that has a Scroll Lock key:

If you’re using an extended keyboard with a Numeric keypad, you can find the Scroll Lock key on that keyboard. Simply click the ScrLK key to turn it off and check the scroll Lock status on the status bar.

On some keyboards, we can find the Scroll lock key along with the insert key. In that case, press the Function key (Fn) + Scroll lock key.

Disable Scroll Lock With On-Screen Keyboard:

You no need to worry if your Keyboard doesn’t have a Scroll Lock key. You can turn it off using On-Screen Keyboard.

Type On-Screen Keyboard on the Windows Search box and click on the On-Screen Keyboard option to open the Keyboard.

Locate the Scroll Lock key and click on it to disable it.

Shortcut: you can simply use the Keyboard shortcut Windows button + Ctrl + O to open the On-Screen Keyboard.

Now try moving the cursor between the cells using the arrow keys. The error is already resolved and you can find the cursor is moving between the cells.
